Following negotiations and discussions with the Histology Department at the Central Manchester & Manchester Children’s University Hospitals NHS Trust, a service contract was devised to cover a range of various types of laboratory equipment.
This equipment included tissue embedding stations, tissue processors and slide stainers. This approach eliminated the need for the Trust to negotiate and set-up numerous contracts for the equipment which in turn resulted in administration and management cost savings.
Subsequently, the contract was awarded to Arena Instrumentation by the Trust and the service work was scheduled and executed within the Trust’s required timescales and to the levels of service expected by a busy laboratory.
The feedback received from the client proved to be extremely positive and complimentary with a cost saving of 50% experienced by the Trust with respect to the expenditure previously associated with the service and maintenance of this equipment.

As a result of this initial contract, our relationship with the Trust is continually developing with further opportunities and work identified and expected in the future.
